There are times when I cannot believe how melodramatic I get when I write "Secrets." Then I read the last couple sentences in the file and wince. The angsty interminable internal monologues, they burn.

Also, holy shit I will need to edit this chapter down to a manageable length. 12,275 words so far, and I still have not quite gotten Daphne and Ginny out of the trophy room. Then Ginny needs to talk to somebody, and then there is the whole scene on the Hogwarts Express. (Fortunately, JKR has already written significant parts of that one for me. *grin*)

In completely unrelated news, my parents are visiting Friday night and Saturday. I have made a 7:30pm reservation at WildFire (the restaurant that replaced the much-mourned Lost Dog Cafe).

On Saturday, we plan to visit Bellwether Hard Cider, because I think hard cider is fascinating and we have never been there in the nine-and-a-half years I've lived in Ithaca. We will probably also visit the Johnson Museum of Art at Cornell, since they seem to have several interesting current exhibits.

I am not sure what we will do by way of breakfast and lunch on Saturday, but honestly? I kind of want a sausage McMuffin with egg from McDonald's. Is that bad of me?
