I got my RemixRedux assignment last night. I am very lucky in that I share two fandoms with my remixee -- usually I only have one. On the other hand, my remixee is a very ship-focused writer, while I prefer gen. On the third hand, my remixee's favorite ships are ones that I do also like, so I do not have the WTF reaction I had last year when facing

osmalic's Snape/Lupin stories. (Which were all well-written, incidentally! It's just that the emotional logic of that pairing completely escapes me, and also, I cannot find any point in canon where they are both single and willing to not totally despise each other... and yet hatesex does not seem to be the dominant expression of that ship. It is very odd).

But anyway. It looks like I will be playing with romance and sex this year. The question is whether I will find a story whose character interaction speaks to me and background the shipping in my retelling, or whether I will go insane and try actually writing porn.

...

I would not bet on porn if I were you. *wry*
