Yeah, the "where did Edmund go wrong?" story is almost as much a cliche as the "Problem of Susan" story, but oddly enough, that didn't occur to me until I hit the very end -- I was thinking of this more as a general character study of Edith and Mary. Funny how the subconscious mind works. *wry*
I'm glad Edith doesn't come off as just Edmund with a girl's name -- if she weren't changed, I wouldn't be doing this right.
