1. No matter what side of the argument you are on, you always find people on your side that you wish were on the other.

2. In other news, my parents and my Aunt Cara are visiting me for Thanksgiving. They arrived on Tuesday and we went out for dinner at 9:30pm after I closed the smoke shop; we ate at North Star, which is a bar right across the street from my apartment.
Today we all breakfasted separately, then visited four wineries: Buttonwood Grove, Cayuga Ridge Estate, Thirsty Owl (where we ate lunch and were literally the last customers of the season in their bistro, as their chef was closing up in order to visit family in NJ), and Hosmer. Then Dad walked my parents's dog while Mom and I drove Aunt Cara around the Cornell campus for a brief tour. We separated for a nap, and then went to Moosewood restaurant for dinner around 6:30pm, after which we returned to my apartment to look at some family pictures and have tiny slices of apple cake for dessert.
Thursday I am working 9am-2pm at the smoke shop, which means I will neatly miss all the cooking and food preparation madness. :-D I will, of course, do a lot of the cleaning up and packaging leftovers, which is my usual family role.
I am not sure what our plans are for the evening. We may also all go out for breakfast Friday morning, after which I have to work 12-9pm, while Aunt Cara drives back to Chicago and my parents drive back down to NJ.

3. I am cautiously pleased about my Yuletide assignment. I matched my recipient on only one fandom -- the other three are things I've never so much as heard of -- but the matched fandom is something I both love and should be able to write... once I get hold of a copy of the source to refresh my memory. *headdesk* So we'll see how that goes.
