Well, I have ordered the book I need for Yuletide via Alibris, and it is scheduled to arrive Dec. 5th. (I paid for expedited shipping.) Here's hoping that works out!

I looked at my recipient's other requests again, and while two are for what quick Google searches assure me are longish series-based things (which, frankly, I don't have the time to familiarize myself with), the fourth turns out, on second glance, to be a movie I should have recognized. I haven't seen it, but hey, I have Netflix! I put the film on top of my queue and am returning my current disk on Monday, so hopefully that will arrive next week (and my computer will feel cooperative), thus giving me a backup option in case I never get the book from either the Alibris seller or the library.

On a semi-related note, it occurred to me that I will not be able to participate in Yuletide Madness this year, since I will be leaving for Spain the evening of Dec. 20th and won't return to America until Dec. 29th. I will probably still be able to read my gift story on Christmas, since Vicky does have a laptop and internet access, but I won't get a chance to really browse the archive for several days, and as for writing and posting in Spain? Forget it! That will be family-and-tourism time. :-)

And now I am off to the grocery store.
