I figure that as vampires go, Jean-Claude is a good master -- not too capricious, willing to put up with a fair bit of informality and backtalk, and he will generally at least listen and give a smidgeon of leeway to his people if they go against him in small ways -- but he's still the Master of the City, which means he can do whatever he damn well wants to the people under his rule, and they have no recourse against him except, maybe, Anita. Who is still reflexively negative about the preternatural world, and has a monster temper besides. :-( Also, he is an extremely sex-oriented person (for obvious reasons, given the ardeur and the habits imposed by his early vampiric life) and I suspect that gets old for people with less insistent libidos. *wry*
Yeah, I figured dreamwalking was within the general realm of possibility, given the other mind powers vampires have displayed. I just wanted to have a note on the record that I am aware it's a power I created, not one that came directly from the books. :-)
Next chapter is for flashbacks and dreams! ...but first I must go shopping and buy a new electric fan. *sigh* Summer. Bah.
