Yeah, bob is gen that includes background relationships and/or sex. It is a useful term! The thing about the word "pairing," though, at least in fandom usage, is that it does not necessarily imply anything about the functionality of the relationship in question, just that it's romantic and sexual unless specifically stated to be otherwise. Friendship, on the other hand, generally implies functionality to me. And in any case, it is completely the wrong word for talking about what's between Lily and Petunia Evans, what's between Petunia and Snape, and really even for what's between Lily and Snape, since on Snape's side their friendship is an unrequited obsessive put-her-on-a-pedestal crush. *kicks the English language in frustration*

I am revising Bree's chapter right now, actually. :-D Then I should move onto Aravis's POV, before I forget the main incident I want to include in her chapter...
