I just want to avoid basic factual errors! If I can do so, I should, right? I mean, it's GI Joe, so I don't need to be obsessively realistic -- for example, their pulse weapons are impossible; where they would get funding for their super-special underground base, I have not the foggiest idea; and so far as I can tell, the US does not allow women into Special Forces units (so explain Scarlet, then...) -- but I would like to not come across as a complete idiot. Thus far, this has led me to things like qualifications for ROTC scholarships, the differences between various military helicopters, and the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. I expect I will keep stumbling into plot points that need more research.

*scurries off to read about the history of US military presence in Thailand*
