Liz's continuing adventures with Homestuck

I am in Act 4, on... uh... page 3543, I think. In other words, yeah, I have kind of started to meet the trolls. A little. And there have been explanations which, true to my prediction, have only made everything weirder. But they kind of make sense? By which I mean there is an internal logic (...sometimes) to the story, even if it makes no normal sense, and you can get a feel for the story logic as you go even if you don't have all the pieces yet.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go see what Dave means about going back in time and John and Jade dying and seriously, WHAT is going on here???

...After I go back to page 3541 and watch the animation again, because that one's kind of cool. *sheepish*

ETA: Brief note upon reaching the end of Act 4 (i.e. page 3832). John. Bro. Seriously, what the everliving fuck did you just make me watch.

ETA2: Okay, I'm now at the real end of Act 4 (page 3841), which is much cooler (and also direly portentous and so on and so forth), but even so, I am still kind of scarred by page 3831. (Do not go watch it. It's not squicky or anything, but ack, my eyes.)

... Uh. Hm. I'm not sure, but not for a good while longer. Safest would be to wait until end of Act V, though by that point I was a bit pick-and-choosing since I was diverging the timeline a bit.

Be sure to grab some Tab, Faygo (You haven't met this character yet) or Betty Crocker product of your choice for this next section. Act V is the longest one in the story. The End of Act Flash is over 13 minutes long.

Oh, and you're going to meet arachnidsGrip. AG is probably one of the most divisive characters in the fandom. Fair warning!

I am now on page 4099 and I have met Vriska, who is currently grabbing some extra fancy dice to carry as weapons. No real opinion on her yet, though she's obviously not what I'd call a nice person. Still, I have liked many characters who I am sure I would hate if I had to actually interact with them -- being interesting is a much stronger virtue in fiction than in real life, IMO -- so as long as she doesn't get boring, I will probably at least be okay reading about her. :-)

Vriska is many things-but boring has never been one of them. Indeed, need to not be boring causes a lot of problems for her and others around her.

After reading about Tavros and the house of stairs, and the whole "Let's skip the side quests!" idea (which we saw -- or at least were told -- how well that didn't work out for John when... I think Terezi? tried to talk him into it), um, yeah. Definitely a source of problems. But interesting!
