It's not so bad as long as you're just sitting in the general pool. Going through the voir dire is much more painful and as rthstewart said, you can in theory persuade them not to pick you. This is probably your last day of it anyway; usually, after two days, they send you home with a piece of paper and then they don't bother you again for the next eight (I think it's 8 for NY now... it's been a while since I was summoned, *touch wood*) years.
(And at least they have wi-fi now! I remember the days when you sit there all day for about 6-7 hours with nothing but a book or a newspaper.)
