Interesting shipping thoughts! I think one of the other things that makes Rose/Roxy kind of ping worse than Dave/Dirk (because I'm totally with you on that one) is the specific ways those particular relationships are already broken, especially on the Beta kids' end: Dave's relationship with his Bro was fucked up largely because Bro kept expecting Dave to be able to deal with stuff that was way inappropriate for his actual age and maturity level; whereas Rose's mother, if anything, tended to infantilize her daughter. Makes the latter ship even skeevier, or at least a very pronouncedly different kind of skeeve.
