Now who's being species-centric? Unstable binary relationships are always destructive. Explosively for darkrom, and implosively for brightrom. I - how do I explain this - alright, just about everybody ships Doctor <3 Rose, including the Doctor and Rose, but! Yes, Rose-without-the-Doctor becomes someone who'll do anything to get the Doctor back, and yes, the-Doctor-without-Rose becomes someone who can't bear to live without Rose(except that eventually he is able to bear becoming someone who can bear it, I am familiar with the concept of regeneration, but that is not the point!) Yes, both of these things are true, but they are both overwhelmed by the Terrible People that the-Doctor-and-Rose become without Jack. They need him - or, at least they need someone, and hopefully Rose and the metacrisis Doctor will realize that, and hopefully they will find someone, because separating would not be particularly better than just going on like that, for either of them. Maybe they'll even find Jack, who is presumably around somewhen, being a conman with at least the potential for a heart of gold. That would be good. It seems unlikely, though, because the key word there is 'somewhen'.
