In other gardening news, my onion continues to look rather scraggly -- well, what do you expect when it’s been repeatedly attacked by local wildlife? -- but it has produced two buds despite hardships and I expect funny onion puff-blossoms within a week or two. I have also moved the pot so the leaves get some additional support from the side of the garage, since they had obviously outgrown the little plastic trellis I initially gave it as a prop.

Go little onions!

All my plants are kind of staring around at all the rain going "what /is/ this?" because this state has a 25 year drought going.

*nods* Ohio river valley, just west of central Ohio. The whole area has been just parched for an alarmingly long time--and since the base soil is clay, then huge rains generally just mean flooding further south. *rueful* It's a mess all the way around. This summer and last have been wet enough things actually got white mold all over, because all the mold-repelling bugs have pretty much fallen out of the ecosystem.
