I can has dog! :-)

I returned to Ithaca Sunday evening with Dottie in tow, and she will be staying with me until the 19th. She's moping less than when I dogsat her last summer, which I think is because I brought her here instead of my parents dropping her off. Last time she was very reluctant to leave my apartment for the first couple days, as if she thought my parents might come back at any moment and she didn't want to miss them. This time she seems aware that they aren't around.

Here she is settling in to snooze for the night, in her bed at the base of my bedroom closet.

She is very pretty, isn't she? Dottie is mostly Jack Russel terrier with something else mixed in. I strongly suspect Dalmatian -- because of her spots, and also because of leg length and facial structure -- but my parents insist on being agnostic on the question.

She doesn't mind being photographed, but I get the sense she thinks I'm being silly and weird whenever I snap pictures of her instead of either petting her or leaving her in peace. :-)

Looks like you're getting the evil eye, but she does look cosy.

I'm not sure what Dottie thinks cameras do, exactly, but I'm pretty sure she regards humans' interest in photography as inexplicable and a waste of time when we could be petting her instead. :-)
