wherein the sky is cruel

Ugh, weather.
So today was lovely. By which I mean it precipitated from about midnight to 7pm, starting as snow, switching up to icy sleet around 6am, switching to not-quite-freezing rain around 9am, switching back to icy sleet around noon, and lastly back to snow around 3pm.
The main roads are mostly clear, but side roads and rural routes are iffy and the sidewalks are frankly terrifying. I very sensibly wore boots and carried my nice shoes in a plastic bag on my way to work, but I made the mistake of stepping into a puddle that turned out to be a good two inches deeper than I expected and so I wound up with drenched pants and socks despite my precautions. Blargh.
(I did pick up four extra hours, since one of my coworkers called in sick with a migraine so I stayed to be the second person in the office until closing. Which was an hour early, because we had no further appointments and we were quite certain that nobody in their right mind was going to try for a walk-in under those conditions. Yay money?)
...
I really ought to invest in a sun lamp. I get so very tired of winter after a while.
