Apr. 18th, 2016 10:46 pmIt's about time for another pepper photo, yes? I think yes. :)

my peppers on Saturday, 9 April 2016
Anyway, the first picture shows my peppers on the afternoon of Monday, 4/18/16. The four numbers mark the seeds that either failed to sprout or sprouted but failed to thrive. A comparison to the second picture (from Saturday, 4/9/16) shows that the seeds marked [1] and [3] sprouted but died thereafter -- [1] never got its seed coat off, and when I tried to help, the whole top just kind of fell off at the gentlest brush of my fingers, before I even got the scissors anywhere near the plant; [3] opened its cotyledons and then just kind of shriveled after a couple days. Seed [4] never sprouted at all. And seed [2] tried to sprout -- it got as far as pushing a tiny U-shaped curve of stem into visibility -- but never got further than that and seems to have started rotting. :(
It's harder than I expected to keep the soil moist enough while not simultaneously drowning the seedlings in excess humidity. I have been poking a number of small holes in the plastic 'greenhouse' lid, which will hopefully help both this year and in years to come.
Despite those setbacks, the other sprouts are doing excellently, as you can see by their growth and healthy green color! I gave them a little fertilizer on Sunday evening, which they are presumably enjoying.
(FYI, all photos have been and will be taken from the same orientation of the greenhouse base. I marked one side with white-out to ensure I wouldn't get mixed up. *grin*)
