I just did a marathon reading session up through part 69, because I couldn't find a good place to stop. I kept biting my nails and wondering what Raito would descend to next, and hoping, in a half-horrified way, that he'd pull it off, whatever it was.
He has the same fascination for me that Steerpike (of Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast trilogy) does -- you know he's the villain, but you kind of hope he wins anyway.
