tiny green sprout at the tip of a bulb, planted in a dark ceramic pot

I potted my narcissus bulb last night. I'd poured water on it the day before to soften the roots a bit... and it turned out that some fungal spores had gotten into the pot over the spring or summer, which rapidly began sprouting into gray fuzz. So I washed the now-flexible roots as best I could (and trimmed off the most infected parts), and spritzed some anti-fungal spray into the dirt around them as I potted the bulb.

It seems to be trying for two main sprouts again this year. We shall see how things progress. :)
