The reason I am bored is that I misread the online academic calendar and am back in Ithaca a week before classes start. Oh well. This gives me time to buy my books and get ahead on my reading.

Got a third review for "Secrets," which is better than nothing though still disappointing. Also got back beta responses for "Wearing Thin" and will hopefully get that edited by next Monday. Finished "Sir Ron and the Green Knight" and now that I'm back in a place with working printers (my parents' broke several months back and they still haven't replaced it, god knows why...) it will shortly be under the Editing Pen of Death. Fortunately, while home I got Cat to check over the occasional French phrases Fleur uses (as I am not going to try writing a French accent) so those are now accurate.

And then I have the joy of totally redoing "Fire" now that Vicky's told me -- in great detail -- everything that's wrong with the rough draft. And she's right, too, which is the hell of it. I hate when editors are right, even though it makes the finished product better, which is what I'm really after.

Random notes about my life: 1) sprayed my spider plants with disease-killing guck, which hopefully will get rid of whatever nasty thing got at them. 2) Hung out with Cat and Susan in the city -- that's NYC, for you poor deprived souls living elsewhere. 3) Discovered Pirates of the Caribbean fanfiction, which I will undoubtedly regret sooner or later as it eats my life like my other fandoms. 4) Repaired my bag, which was getting ragged around the top and had loosening straps. I can handstich perfectly well when the mood strikes me, though I've yet to figure out a sewing machine.

And that's about it.

Oh, yeah, I figured out a bit more about the Ammunite religion, which figures heavily into one of my original worlds -- home of a number of interrelated short stories -- and am now able to truthfully say that it isn't a rip-off of either Catholicism or the Greek pantheon anymore, despite still having influences from both traditions.

That really is all.
