This will be a post with little internal continuity.

1. I wrote about 1500 words of "Secrets" last night, bringing chapter 10 to approximately 5,000 words total. That's only half the number of words I want -- this thing will be 9,500 words minimum if it kills me -- and yet I only have one planned scene left to write. Dilemma! Well, chapters 10 and 11 were always the vaguest in my outline (mostly since Ginny practically vanishes from canon during this period, and she inexplicably leaves the diary with Harry for something like two months) so I can just fiddle around with the amorphous mass of stuff that I'd previously been shoving into chapter 11. I'm sure some piece of it should logically fit into chapter 10.

2. I also wrote 600 words of "Finding Marea," which is definitely drawing together and shaping its way toward an ending. I might have it done by... no. Every time I set deadlines, I jinx myself. Let's just say 'soon.'

3. I actually made it to church this morning, since I didn't have to teach. And... honestly, I don't like Rev. Hepokoski's delivery style. It probably didn't help that she was talking about searching for 'holy texts,' which is nearly meaningless to me -- I think it's the difference between coming to UUism as a reaction against other religious traditions, and being raised UU -- but she just pauses too much. It feels almost like she's trying to engage the congregation in conversation, but at the same time, she's clearly giving a sermon and is not prepared for interruptions.

Hmrph. Anyway, I had a few short conversations afterward, during coffee hour, so that's all right. And we sang one of my favorite hymns, which will perk up my day every time! *beams*

4. Adapting my Ekanu ficlets into a continuous story, "Learning to Listen," is an interesting experience. For starters, I had to put them into the same verb tense! Then I had to work out the exact relation of one snippet to the next, and alter them so the flow smoothly. I've just finished most of that work, and am set to write the first new connecting scene, in which Ekanu meets the University masters and tries to decide what she wants to study.

5. Every year, my German pen-family sends me Lebkuchen, and since I don't eat it (hazelnuts, ugh!), every year I have to pawn it off on people. This year, I successfully dropped it off in my RE classroom for use as a supplemental snack. Go me!

6. I have a Death Note story that will need beta'ing soon, probably tomorrow or Tuesday. Is anybody willing to read it over and tell me where I'm being an idiot?

7. You know, I really need to read the latest chapters of Naruto. If nothing else, I need the information on Akatsuki!

We had an interesting presentation at our congregation today about evangelical Christianity. The presenter is a former born-again Christian who studied at a Wesleyan seminary for awhlie. Very interesting stuff, espcially since Mr. Annearchy and I happened to see a show about "The anti-christ" on History channel yesterday.

What stuff on Akatsuki do you need? And more specifically, what do you already have?
