Am working on chapter 7 of Secrets, and the first scene is going nicely. This is the one where Ginny sneaks off and performs a spell to let Tom communicate more easily with her -- and possibly get out of the diary someday, he says. And it's fun, because I get to be all with the double meanings and the hidden implications and stuff.
Plus I wrote out a Legilimantic incantation. In German. From, I have decided, the Thiry Years' War, which probably impinged on wizarding society as well as Muggle society. And it makes sense for German wizards to be really paranoid during that time period, and to concentrate on reading the minds of potential captives/spies. So it's all good. And I get to actually do something with my years of German study. *evil grin*
I think I won't translate it until Ginny gets freaked and looks up the spell later on. At which point she will realize that Tom altered the spell from its original version, and that it's even more insidious and nasty since he got her to say it, willingly.
Oh, and the spell will start the process of the blackouts and complete possession, so as to move me into compliance with OoP canon. (Which I still think is incredibly stupid, btw. I mean, no matter how isolated and nervous you are, wouldn't you get suspicious if you started having complete blackouts every time something nasty happened? But JKR hath spoken, and I'm trying to stay as canon-accurate as possible, so say hi to the blank spots. *sigh*)

In other news, one of my housemates has been stealing my Coke. But I have been stealing James's chocolates, so I suppose I can't be too irritated. But still! Whenever I take someone else's Coke, I replace it when I buy a new 12-pack. And I left money for the chocolates, too. It's not fair. *is grumpy*
