As I was walking home last night, I had the most marvelously evil idea for a Harry Potter AU, and in the white-hot heat of inspiration, I wrote the first chapter last night and this afternoon... all 7,500 words of it.

(Yes, I'm still a little boggled over that.)

I'm not going to post it, though, because I want to get the first three chapters written, so the overall structure is clear. Also, chapter 1 needs a lot of revision before I can even send it to beta. But it's still the most wonderful idea I've had in quite a while -- all it takes is two small nudges in PS/SS, and the whole massive thing spins off in a different direction, picking up speed as it goes. *rubs hands in glee*

It's called "More Subtle Than Any Beast of the Field."

(Yes, that is a big whopping hint.)

----------------------------------

In other news, I came unstuck on "Lemonade," and am working through the fight scene that makes the final third of chapter 3. It might be up tomorrow.

Chapter 4 of "Guardian" will be delayed until next week. As for "Secrets," well, I seem to have my Harry Potter inspiration back full blast -- I can't get over how strange that feels! -- so we shall see how that goes.

ETA: Just finished another [livejournal.com profile] thirtyforthree Ginny/Harry/Draco ficlet, this one for theme #7 - Hugs. That brings me to fourteen completed themes! Hmm. I should probably post another one sometime soonish.

Oh, really, from Genesis? Dern...I thought it was a reference to Yogi Bear; y'know, "Smarter than the average bear"?....and I guess that says something about how my mind works...

Ahh, oh well. Ive had a lot of bible exposure myself, but not to all the specifics...oh! And it just occured to me, thats probably in the New Testament, isnt it? I'm more of Pentateuch guy myself. But regardless, the Bible has some of the best stories ever; when its not giving lists of names, or rules, it's some pretty engaging stuff. And, Uh, Erised....are you doing some sort of experiment on the limits of language comprehension? Because if you are, I'd like to report that somehow, despite mixing the last letters of words onto the front of the next words, I still managed to comprehend that very well.

Err...I meant about those other stories...or was I wrong about those too? Sorry if I'm confusing things too much.
