writing stuff
May. 11th, 2004 08:38 pmGot back a "Sir Ron" beta from
lasultrix today, and have been trying to fix the beginning and some Latin incantation stuff. Because she said the recording charm conceit was confusing. And she was right. As usual.
Good betas are simultaneously the best things on earth and really godawfully annoying. Because they make you notice the things you've forgotten or goofed up, and then you have to fix them. Which is a pain. And takes actual time and thought. Which is really no fun on hot and humid days.
But the story is much better afterwards, so we love betas. Really we do! Love love love.
(Pay no attention to me; I'm just lazy and like to complain.)
--------------------------------
And on the RL front, it turns out that the medical leave/withdrawal paperwork I thought was going through this past Friday will actually not go through until this coming Friday, because the health center didn't get its act together. So I can't go home this weekend. I must stick around until Monday or Tuesday because they may need me to sign more forms after my application for leave has gone before the academic records committee.
Argh!
