[Fic] "Wearing Thin" -- Harry Potter

Okay, it's been up since Sunday, and it has 47 hits, but nobody's reviewed Wearing Thin yet. Nobody loves me! *plaintive wail*

Look, I know it's weird subject matter, and it's an original character, and it's slash, and it's sort of non-smutty sex (which, I guess, makes a lot of people say "What's the point?" or something like that), and I knew it was never going to be popular, but still!

Comment, people! Tell me if it worked. Really. That's all I want to know. Just, you know, respond. After all, if I wrote solely for my own amusement, I wouldn't post the damn things, now would I?

Hi... I went and read Wearing Thin. Not sure about the title (?) but I did enjoy the story. I would've commented on the FA boards but the bugger didn't recognize me (must have lost my cookie or something). Anyway I liked it. I thought your dialog was terrific and the smut was very tastefully done (!). I'm a big fan of little slice-of-life stories like this and I think this one was quite well done. I'm not good at giving concrit but I liked it. I like your characterization of Bill very much. See, I'm a lousy review writer. *headdesk*

*pants in relief* It gets kind of nerve-wracking, sending fic out into what feels like a black hole. And it was only my second smutfic ever, and my first slash, so the nerves were a LOT worse than usual. Because smut? Not my forte. I love reading it, but the writing's a lot harder! Um, pun not intended.

(Btw, as I now feel guilty for being a shamefully negligent reviewer while begging for other people to review me... I've read your fics on pgw_underground, and I really liked the one where Hermione has a Snitch tattoo. VERY sexy, that one! Harry's narration felt a bit detached at a few points -- for example, when he mentioned that his voice was "deep and hoarse with lust," I couldn't help wondering why he bothered to notice at a moment like that -- but ohboy, there's something about that tattoo idea that really got me.)

Well, crap, I tried to reply to you late last night but my Yahoo mail was misbehaving. I'm glad you liked that story. I actually prefer to write short pieces (10 pages or less); I like to crank them out and see what people think (yes, I've been known to be a review-ho). The "Ebil Story" I've mentioned innumerable times in the last 7 weeks is also based on that same Snitch drawing, but the plot is dramatically different and the story ended up about 10 times longer than that little quickie fic :)
