Yet Another Harry Potter Meme
What's your One, True Pairing (OTP)?	I don't have one; in all honesty, I find that level of certainty and interest in fictional people's love lives somewhat mystifying.
What's your secondary pairing?	I have a soft spot for H/D, H/R/Hr, and H/Hr. That means I'm more likely to forgive story or grammar problems in fics with those pairings than I am to fics with other pairings. Also, I write H/G, but I've read far too many horrible stories to like that ship unreservedly.
What common fandom ship makes you gag?	Hermione/Snape. I have no idea why, but it totally squicks me.
What common fandom ship makes you laugh, because it's so ridiculous?	Anything involving socks or the Giant Squid.
What ship(s) do you consider canon?	Married couples, and couples who have actually dated in the books. (This does not include Remus/Sirius, suggestive subtext or no.)
What is the squickiest fandom ship you've seen?	Er, I think Hagrid/Dobby. *shudders*
If you could have JKR's ear, what ship would you:
Beg her for?	Anything, really, so long as she laid reasonable groundwork for it, didn't betray the characters to get them into it, and didn't make it too icky-sweet.
Beg her not to use?	Hermione/Snape. Do you detect a pattern here yet?
Expect her to throw you out for mentioning?	None, really; she seems to have a reasonable sense of humor regarding the ways people play with her world.
Canon questions
Could the Prophecy refer to Neville after all?	Nope.
Could it refer to Ginny? (We don't know when her birthday is)	Nope.
Will Sirius return from the veil?	I strongly doubt it.
Who's the Half-Blood Prince?	I'm sure we'll find out in good time. Until then, I'm not going to worry about it.
Which major character will be the next to die?	I've no idea whatsoever. I don't try to predict JKR; I just enjoy the end product and fiddle with the vast backstory she leaves for us to flesh out.
Which character you adore are you afraid will die?	I don't adore him, but I'm a little worried about Snape's life expectancy.
Which annoying character do you hope will die?	Colin Creevey. I've never liked him. Oh, and Umbridge and Fudge can go jump in the lake and be squid food.

From this, I conclude that I'm not the type of fan the survey was designed for. *sigh* I like JKR's world. I like to explore dusty corners of it. I like to patch up weak bits in her plots.

I'm not a shipper. I'm really not a predictive shipper -- by which I mean that I don't know or much care who will end up with whom in canon; I judge ships by whether I think the people involved could work together, regardless of the possibility of them ever getting together in canon. I don't try to figure out JKR's plots beforehand. Heck, I don't much bother trying to figure out the ends of her books while I'm reading them.

Ah well. It takes all kinds to make up a fandom, I suppose. And I don't really believe in "One True Love" anyway. It's an idea as depressing as it is romantic, after all -- imagine only being able to be truly happy with one person, ever!

No, I'd much rather think love is more flexible than that.
