edenfallingI lied about writing more "Secrets." Instead I wrote maybe... 2/3 of Yukiko's match in the chuunin exam. It's kind of fugly, but it can probably be cleaned up without too much trouble.
It's irritating to write, since I kind of planned it back around chapter 2 and by now that fight completely doesn't match the characters and the techniques I've developed as the story grew. Also, I have a feeling there should be more random noise and distraction from the audience, but I'm not sure how to work that in.
Writing action scenes is weird for me, since describing physical settings is not my forte yet exact positioning is very important in fights. Also, I don't think very much under pressure -- when I got into fights as a kid, I tended to react on impulse without really thinking anything through (which led to me regretting a lot of things, like, say, trying to stab my sister with a fork, or throwing a large chunk of wood into a boy's eye... although, to be honest, I never regretted kicking Odain F in the balls when he picked on my friend Cat; he totally deserved that) -- but Yukiko thinks while she's fighting.
So I have to write a thought process clicking away under pressure, and I'm never quite sure I'm managing it correctly.

Tonight I have a doctor's appointment to get set up as a patient of a local clinic. Then I can make another appointment to actually talk about getting a new prescription for my antidepressants. And this initial set-up will cost me $200, just because I have no insurance.
Bureaucracy. Health care. Grrrr.
