Yesterday, the epilogue to "First You Have to Get There," my Harry/Ginny story, finally went up at FictionAlley. To understand how momentous this is, you must realize that "Get There" is the sequel to the first fanfiction story I ever wrote (that would be Five Years Is an Awful Lot of Later) and was started back in June/July of 2002. It has taken me nearly three years to write this story -- which, considering it's only four chapters and an epilogue, and each chapter is about 3000 words max, is kind of sad.
But it's done! Go read it, and tell me what you think.
First You Have to Get There (FictionAlley version)
First You Have to Get There (Fanfiction.net version)
I advise reading the ff.net version, since I went back and revised the whole thing after I posted the epilogue on FA. The ff.net version reads a little more smoothly, and uses Ginny's correct canon name (which hadn't been revealed when I wrote the early chapters).
-----------------------------------
Also, the world is apparently starved for good Petuniafic -- I put one up at FA a few days ago, and have already received about 10 reviews for it, 8 of them yesterday. That's more reviews than "Get There" has received so far, which is just unnatural. Romances are supposed to be the ten-ton gorilla of the fanfiction world, damnit! ;-)
