The general consensus seems to be that I should at least write the epilogue to "Apartment Manager," and then possibly work on "Undertow."

Okay then.

Last night I started hashing out the plot for "The Guardian in Spite of Herself," since I knew more or less where I wanted to be at the end of the story but had very little idea of how to get there. I now have a few fixed plot points, but the story is still fairly fluid. Thank you for all your comments and your suggestions about what you'd like to see. I can't fit all of them in -- the story direction rules some of them out -- but I will keep them in mind.

I also took the snippets I wrote last spring and edited them into something approximating a first chapter. I'm not posting it, though, because it's still unfinished (and I want to make sure any hints and foreshadowing point in the right direction, which means I need a firmer plot).

I also have a few questions for those who know these things:

1. When, exactly, are Naruto and Sasuke's birthdays?

2. What does Sasuke call his parents during the flashback chapters? (The Japanese terms, please.)

3. What's the official term for the internal village police organization that the Uchiha ran? Does anyone know what became of it after the massacre? Was it an arm of the government, a private business, or something in between?

Thanks in advance!

*wanders off to fiddle with the epilogue and hope that the rain stops soon*
