The general consensus seems to be that I should at least write the epilogue to "Apartment Manager," and then possibly work on "Undertow."

Okay then.

Last night I started hashing out the plot for "The Guardian in Spite of Herself," since I knew more or less where I wanted to be at the end of the story but had very little idea of how to get there. I now have a few fixed plot points, but the story is still fairly fluid. Thank you for all your comments and your suggestions about what you'd like to see. I can't fit all of them in -- the story direction rules some of them out -- but I will keep them in mind.

I also took the snippets I wrote last spring and edited them into something approximating a first chapter. I'm not posting it, though, because it's still unfinished (and I want to make sure any hints and foreshadowing point in the right direction, which means I need a firmer plot).

I also have a few questions for those who know these things:

1. When, exactly, are Naruto and Sasuke's birthdays?

2. What does Sasuke call his parents during the flashback chapters? (The Japanese terms, please.)

3. What's the official term for the internal village police organization that the Uchiha ran? Does anyone know what became of it after the massacre? Was it an arm of the government, a private business, or something in between?

Thanks in advance!

*wanders off to fiddle with the epilogue and hope that the rain stops soon*

Don't know the answers to the second two right now, but Naruto's birthday is Oct. 10, and Sasuke's is July 23.

I don't know the answer, but I know you can find it in episode 83 or 84, cause I watched them yesterday

According to Leafninja.com (http://www.leafninja.com/), the police are the 'Konoha Military Police Corps.' and are not privately owned, but incorporated the Uchiha fan into their symbol because the Uchiha had a major influence on their founding. Personally, I'd say 'in between' because of the Uchiha influence and supposedly they made up most of the officers.

The exact text of the organization's entry is "Originally founded by the ancestors of the Uchiha clan, the Konoha Military Police Corps are responsible for maintaining city peace and law enforcement." and I usually find this site to be extremely trustworthy and mostly up to date. Also, as far as I know, the police have not been referred to outside of the Uchiha flashbacks.

If you can point me at chapter numbers and manga raws for the flashback chapters you're looking for, I can find out what Sasuke calls 'em - I just have no idea which chapters that's in...

Konoha Keimu Butai (Konoha Military Police)
(Konoha Keimu Butai, 木ノ葉警務部隊, literally "Konoha Military Police Force")

In the past, the Military Police in Konoha almost completely consisted of Uchiha clan members; however, now that the Uchiha Clan is almost completely destroyed, this is obviously not the case anymore. The MPs are in charge of law enforcement within the village, and their jurisdiction is virtually unlimited except matters that are under the Hokage's direct control. They also respect ANBU's (Black Ops) own investigative system and inner-organization discipline.

I don't have the japanese manga so I can't be 100% sure of the actual japanese terms, but the anime usually doesn't mess around with actual suffix-usage, so I think it's dependable.

Sasuke in his flashbacks called his father "Tou-san" and his mother "Kaa-san" (whereas Itachi called his father "Chichiue", I think...).

Hope that helped.^_^

He was pretty informal as a kid; "tousan" and "kaasan" and "niisan" -- which he later switched to "aniki" for obvious reasons. XD

he also never uses honorifics as a teenager (except sensei, and even there, not all the time -- not even for orochimaru after he runs away), but I don't know if he used any for the rare adults he knew. I'd have to watch again.
