Yet another [livejournal.com profile] thirtyforthree ficlet. This one deals with Ginny's Pygmy Puff, Arnold, which annoyed me in passing during HBP.

( Kept Man )

---------------------------------------------

I think "Kept Man" loosely fits into the same continuity as "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "Domesticity" -- that is, all three deal with an established Ginny/Harry/Draco threesome in which there's a certain ease amongst the participants -- but it stands equally well on its own.

The interesting thing about those ficlets is that there's no real mention of how the threesome got together. So they could fit into the "Touch" and "Vision (Quantum State Collapse)" continuity, or the "Beauty" continuity, or even the rather undefined "Variation and Fugue" continuity.

"After, I" and "After, II" can follow any of the three get-together stories. "Solstice" may be its own get-together continuity, or it may fit in with "Variation and Fugue" -- both stories in question are vague enough to support either interpretation.

"Azkaban," of course, is its own thing entirely, as are "The One Where Aliens Make Them Have Sex" and "Daydreams." "Gethsemane" is a canon-based moment of character study, and "Ripples in a Pool" is a single-scene canon-based AU.

That's 15 of 30 ficlets. The remaining finished-but-unposted ones include a few more moments of established threesome interaction, two pieces about outsiders' reactions, another experiment in which I kick canon judiciously at two particular points and watch events spiral out in variant patterns, and another piece of utter crack along the lines of "Daydreams" or "The One Where Aliens Make Them Have Sex." As for the ones I haven't even written yet... well, who knows!
