Today we did Hanukkah, since last week was Christmas ornaments and the procession to decorate trees in the sanctuary. It was a little interesting doing a Hanukkah lesson before Hanukkah starts (and man, that is so weird that it starts on Christmas this year!) but we managed. Read the story, made dreidels, played dreidel for pennies, and ate latkes, which I have decided are my new favorite snack food. Mmmm, latkes...

I posted chapter 2 of "Guardian" on ff.net just now, with some minor revisions from the lj version -- thank you all for your comments!

This coming week, I am still job-hunting. I think on Monday I'll try hitting the hospital and maybe the local Kendal, which I am told is a sort of assisted living home run by Quakers, or something like that. *shrug* When not hitting the streets, I shall be writing, since I owe people original stories for Christmas (it's my standard "Oh god I'm broke!" present) and currently they're all only half-finished, and I am so running out of time...!

I may also work on "Secrets," because I suck at staying focused and my inspiration always wanders off to other stories. *sigh* At least if it's "Secrets," I'll still be doing something useful.

If I get a job this week, I'll be staying in Ithaca over the holidays. If not, I will be off in Chicago and then probably in New Jersey, where I know I can make some decent money helping Pat clean up all the crap that's accumulated in her house over the past few years. I'm honestly not sure which to hope for -- on the one hand, a job. On the other, family at Christmas. *weighs options* Argh. Sometimes, my life is a real pain in the neck.
