In one of those nice random moments of synchronicity, I got a review for "Secrets" today, just after I'd finished yanking the first attempted plot swerve out of chapter 11 and writing about 850 words. (Chapter's at 1,950 now.)
Other than that, life is excruciatingly dull, and I am bored. I have a stack of old Andre Norton books that I bought dirt cheap at a garage sale a month or so ago, but I don't really feel like reading them. Don't really feel like reading any of my pile of 'good literature, damnit' books either. Would go hit a bar and be morosely tipsy, except I don't have enough money for that; must save spare cash for M.'s birthday barhopping thing in October.
Really ought to apply for some more jobs, actually, since P. wants to reduce my hours to under 25 a week, and that will play merry hell with my budget. Have seen a help wanted poster for home health aides and personal care aides, which is definitely a field where I have experience. If a car is not needed (always a sticking point), I may well submit a resume. Must fiddle one to play up my time with Pat, and go check.
