nothing in particular

I am feeling very 'meh' these past couple days, some of which I blame on weather, some of which I blame on tiptoeing around the edges of a cold, and some of which I know is depression waiting for me to stop paying attention so it can sneak up and pounce.
*stares at depression, not giving an inch*
Anyway, my flying holiday visit to NJ went fairly well, as these things go. It was good to see my parents and Vicky, and to see Cat and Susan as well. Cat introduced us to her... boyfriend? significant other? boytoy? Eh, whatever. He's a little New Agey, I think, but that's a minor failing, and they seem to fit very well. I'm happy -- it's good when good things happen to good people!
I visited Pat briefly, which turned into an inadvertent hour of work rather than a proper visit. Pat also seems to be under the impression that I still 'live' in Madison and am therefore available as a helper; she opened a phone conversation by telling her helper to ask if I was calling from 'home.' Well, I was calling from Madison, but home is in Ithaca. I slip in my nomenclature now and then -- you don't shake your old hometown overnight, especially when your parents still live in the same house where you grew up -- but basically I live in New York state these days.
*sigh*
