smoke shop ramblings
Nov. 15th, 2007 06:55 pmOne of these days, I may actually manage to learn the trick of delegating. It would be very helpful to my time management efforts at work.
But for some reason, it tends not to occur to me until after the fact that I should have asked/told someone to do such-and-such while I do inventory, or to do inventory while I do paperwork, or so on and so forth.
I think I'm just not cut out for management.
...
This thought was brought to you by my first day working with BW, our new guy, who replaced AO. AK is also leaving soon, so I think we need another new person.
Currently we have PM (the manager), DN (me, and now you know my outer initials), ET (former engineering major, joined and quit the navy, currently does... you know, I'm not sure what he does to supplement part-time work here), AD (great person! worked at the Elmira store years ago and is now back in the area), JM (also great! has a really cute young son), MS (*sends hugs and good wishes for college and life and stuff*), BW (the new guy), and AK (nice, efficient, somehow we haven't figured out how to talk to each other without another person there to start the conversation).
So that's 8 people. Which... actually is enough people that we probably don't need to replace AK. On the other hand, AD probably won't be working at the smoke shop for very long -- she has a great resume and will almost certainly find a better job within two to six months -- so maybe we should still be advertising.
I dunno.
Like I said, management = not quite my thing.
