Things done today:
1. Cleaned bathroom.
2. Sorted laundry for wash tomorrow.
3. Picked up paycheck.
4. Went to mall, reading The Art of War en route, and:
A) Bought new 20" box fan to replace old one that broke.
B) Bought new large flowerpot. (Look, houseplants grow.)
C) Bought new pajama pants to replace cruddy old ultra-thin ones with the fraying waist and drawstring.
D) Bought Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 16 and Wild Adapter vol. 5, using 25% discount certificate. (I love Borders.)
E) Attempted to buy new swimsuit. Failed. August is not the right time, and anyway, this year's fashion theme appears to have been string ties. I HATE string ties on a swimsuit. They are not practical, either for putting on (too time-consuming) or for wearing (too likely to unravel while swimming or diving). Will try again next year, in March-May. Hopefully next year's fashion trend will be less stupid.
F) Read The Snow Queen by Mercedes Lackey while killing time at Borders. Cute and silly, though she would have been better off leaving it totally gen rather than trying to tack on hints of romance at the very end. (Also, Aleksia never got around to telling Ilmari, her Designated Love Interest, that she'd been spying on him and his brother and their student, which could cause all kinds of trouble later on.)
5. Called parents.
6. Came home, reading The Art of War en route.
7. Sampled last cheese spread from Xmas gift -- cumin and caraway flavored -- and discarded. (Caraway is always nasty.) Had braunschweiger on my crackers instead. Mmm, liverwurst.
8. Poked at "Lemonade," trying to work Sasuke back into the conversation instead of letting him be antisocial in a corner. Limited success so far.
...
You know, I call that a good day, but it looks so boring laid out like that. I almost want to invent an axe murderer just to make a better story. ;-)
