I came home from work this evening only to discover that my computer had decided my wireless adapter didn't exist. No amount of restarting seemed to cure it of this delusion.
So I read another couple chapters of Niall Ferguson's The Ascent of Money (have I mentioned that I love nonfiction? because I do!) and then decided I might as well back up all my files on flash drives, which I hadn't done for a few months, because the wireless adapter blocks the flash drive slot. So I now have one flash drive with all my fanfiction and a second with all my original worlds and some other random files, and I am carrying them in my tote bag in case of, I don't know, my house burning down or something like that. *grin*
Apparently unplugging the wireless adapter also reset something in my computer, because when I plugged it back in, my internet connection came up in less than twenty seconds. *shakes head* I will never understand computers.
----------
In other news, apparently it's going to be nearly 80 degrees Fahrenheit in Ithaca on Friday, and maybe as high as 85 on the weekend. This is ridiculous. It's APRIL!
(Also, there is really no excuse for any temperature over about 79 degrees, unless it's water in a hot shower, but I recognize that mine is a minority opinion. *grin* There are reasons I'm never moving anywhere south of, say, Philadelphia.)
