No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are slippery and thought is viscous.

In other news, I survived my third day at my new job, and (theoretically) learned how to close the store. I think I remember maybe two thirds of the procedure. Fortunately, I get to do it at least three more times with a partner before I have to do it alone.
I also wrote another G/H/D ficlet for
thirtyforthree. This one's a double drabble -- that would be 200 words, exactly -- for theme #22: remembering. That brings me to 16 complete themes, and I have concrete ideas for three more themes.
However, I need to work on "Guardian" and "Secrets" instead. And my very belated holiday stories!

Date: 2006-02-03 05:41 am (UTC)But all of that's beside the point I was thinking of, which is that difficulty in communication is part and parcel with privacy and, taken farther, identity. One of the reasons I loathe Evangelion so much is that it takes that issue and adds in Cool Giant Robots... everything needed for something both massively entertaining and genuinely worthwhile... then wastes them, drowns them in a mix of pain, deceit, and adulterated LSD.
...that was a tangent, wasn't it?
*shrug* Ah, well.

Date: 2006-02-03 09:32 pm (UTC)When I switch stories, I tend to close the other windows, because I don't like lots of windows open at the bottom of my screen. It's a personal quirk.

Date: 2006-02-04 09:04 pm (UTC)I do not have a fictionpress.com account. I've never seen the point -- I put original stories on lj for a small audience, but if I want to have a lot of people read them, I'll submit them to magazines and whatnot. After all, you can make money off of original stories! *grin*
