1. Laundry! Washed, dried, air-dried, folded, hung, and put away.

2. Changed linens.

3. Withdrew cash to pay for cab rides to and from the airport.

4. Bought gum for airplane takeoffs and landings.

5. Photographed my plants and made my weekly gardening update post.

6. Cooked a batch of rice, of which I used some for the remaining portion of the Blue Apron chicken-and-zucchini dish (with some salt and lemon juice), and froze the rest.

7. Paid credit card bills and health insurance bill. I also wrote a check for my July rent, but I will mail that from Minnesota once I know whether I'll have to shift funds from savings to checking to cover it. (I will definitely have to shift money in July, unless my semiannual dividend check is larger than expected and my amended tax return check arrives. *sigh* Oh well, a proper vacation is worth the financial hit!)

8. Took my suitcase down from on top of my closet and started packing.

9. Cleaned my bathroom (cursorily, but still).

10. Watched the 2016 version of The Magnificent Seven on a probably illegal streaming website (and then removed the Chrome extensions it made me install before it would play the video). This was a dumb choice from a sleep schedule perspective. It's also kind of a dumb movie, but in a fun way with lots of good action scenes, so all in all? No regrets. :D

11. Cooked a batch of veggie sidedish, since obviously the pepper and summer squash weren't going to keep for another week and a half, but the finished product freezes quite well.

12. Reheated my beef taco gloop to kill any bacteria and/or fungus that might have been thinking of setting up shop. (It has been keeping surprisingly well, actually. Then again, many spices have mild antimicrobial properties, and I spiced the ever-living daylights out of that dish, so.)

13. Stopped my mail, which the post office now helpfully lets you do online!

14. Continued packing.

15. Checked in to my flights and printed my boarding passes.

16. Returned Thick as Thieves to the library.

17. Scheduled a taxi pickup for 5:00am Thursday morning.

18. Watered my plants. (Including the two spider plants that a tenant abandoned upon moving out, which I saved and adopted. Miss Cactus adopted the third, since it had a bunch of babies ready to snip and root, and she wanted to try them as tiny bathroom greenery.)

19. Staked pepper E6 and removed fallen mulberries one last time before my departure.

20. Backed up my files onto my external hard drive.

21. Finished packing, aside from a few things I am still using/will use overnight, which I'll add to my suitcase or backpack in the morning.

The plan is to go to bed at 10pm tonight (and take a Benadryl in hopes of knocking myself out) so I will not be completely brain-fried when I get up at 4am in the morning. UGH.

I must remember to light candles to Meteora, Constructa, Constricta, Wayland, and Trilitus, to request good weather, no mechanical troubles with the planes, a smooth and timely flight, no airport delays or complications, and no taxi delays. (My pantheon of travel gods is about 85% a joke with myself. But only 85%. The other 15%... well, that's between me and my superstitions. *wry*)

And now, if you will excuse me, I have to go wash some dishes and clean my teeth.

Lares and penates are important. I hope you have a good trip. The period *right before*, when you are ready but not in-flight, is always very distressing to me.

Yeah, at the airport is good. It's the period when you haven't quite left home and "did I pack everything, there's still time to check" is fighting for my brain with "Will the taxi be so late I miss my flight?"

In fact, I was having missing-my-flight dreams last night. Grrr.
