Last night I had a dream which began when my sister said to me, "Hey, do you remember that really wrong-looking house out on Ridgedale, the one with the log cabin behind it? They've done some construction on it, and now the cabin's gone and the house is twice as big. I swear the cabin was still there yesterday."

"What wrong-looking house on Ridgedale?" I asked, having no memory of a house like that. (There is no such house, of course. The only noteworthy house on Ridgedale is the one with the small bear statue out front, which was stolen once -- the bear, not the house.)

"The one on the corner of Ridgedale and Nyarlathotep," my dad said.

...

It got weirder from there.

d'oh. Cephalopod anatomy this time. And cnidarians. Still have Iruka in the back of my head nagging me about dolphins too, hence the cetacean...

I blame this on her Elder Gods Saiyuki stories, actually -- I didn't get around to reading her FF7 tentacle!fic until this evening. But it's still ultimately her fault, so...

No, but it was a little strange for me. Normally my dreams are a little better about obeying normal laws of physics, I'm not usually in them as myself, and they're not literary pastiche. *shrug*
