In summary: it was a good visit.

Less briefly: my parents came up to Ithaca around noon on Sunday, whereupon we left Dottie at my apartment and drove to Americana Winery, where we did a wine tasting and then had lunch at their attached café. After that, we went to a Cayuga Chamber Orchestra concert (part of their chamber music series rather than the full-on orchestral series) at my church. Coincidentally, the first half of the program was an oboe quintet piece. As a former oboist myself, I always appreciate a good oboe showcase. :)

The concert was shorter than we'd expected, so we headed back to my apartment to open presents (a new nightshirt! new quilted pillow slips that go under pillow cases to keep weird scalp grease off the pillow!), after which we drove a bit up the lake to Rogue's Harbor for dinner. Dessert was apple cake once again back at my apartment.

This morning Mom and I went shopping for a few things, which was useful. Then we picked Dad and Dottie up from their motel, left the dog at my apartment again, and did brunch at Friendly's. And then I came to work, where I will remain until 9pm tonight.
