Today has been A DAY.

1. The rental office was closed on Monday, and of course Sunday and Monday were the days a shitload of people left for the summer, since commencement was Sunday afternoon. So I came in this morning to an explosion of keys and papers under the front door drop-slot, and spent most of the day playing catch-up on those, plus the shitload of rent payments that came in the mail later on.

2. My period started at about 3am this morning. Ugh, bodies.

3. The air conditioner at work is not working -- I had it set down to 64F and the actual office temperature was about 80F and humid as fuck. Then I walked home and discovered that over the winter my own AC's Energy Saver mode broke, such that it basically doesn't run at all on that setting -- I had it set to 73F but, guess what? 80F and humid as fuck inside my apartment, too. *headdesk* So I guess I'll just set it to 74F and regular mode when I'm out during the day.

4. My classes start tomorrow and I still don't have the required textbook for my English class. So I wrote an annoyed email to the TC3 bookstore saying, politely, "Dude, what the fuck, get this to me yesterday and if you can't, please let me know so I can order this from a functional bookseller," and if they don't give me a good answer tomorrow, I'm going to order it from the first secondhand seller I find, and to hell with the price and shipping costs.

...

So that's been my day.

*flops exhaustedly into bed*

---------------

ETA: Annnnnnnnnnnnnd then my headphones broke. Because of course they did.

This day is officially FIRED.

(Okay, bed for real now. I had some milk and strudel, so it's definitely time to sleep.)

GRRR. College bookstores, man.

The cheapest way to find your used textbooks is bookfinder.com, which searches a lot of different online used bookstores, including Amazon. Amazon is rarely the cheapest.

Sympathy. I hope today is a zillion times better (and not just because I want you to beta read). It sounds like the universe is piling on.

I really don’t enjoy warm weather myself, so the AC situation sounds very familiar. Making my daughter breakfast requires using the oven, and I need to make her choose a different option now that it’s getting hot.

Up until the last three years, I hated winter more because I ache in cold weather and because cold air makes my asthma worse, but now summer is worse. I just feel all over miserable. If I'm going to walk for a while outside, my current preference is temperatures between 45F and 55F. That is, sadly, not a common thing locally during most of the year.
