On Thursday, my laptop attempted to update itself. It downloaded and installed the update successfully, but when trying to configure the new stuff, got hung up at 81% for going on 45 minutes, at which point I gave up and turned the machine off.

Friday night I decided to try updating again, and just left the computer on all night to process. When I got up this morning, it was once again stuck at 81%, trying to configure the update -- this after nearly eight hours! So again, I turned it off.

I'll probably try one more time on Sunday or Monday. If that still doesn't work, I guess I have to contact Microsoft and ask them what the fuck. *sigh*

Eight hours does seem excessive... my longest Windows update took 3 hours, which was long enough to wait, when I was supposed to be doing some work. I've always found general google or even Reddit quite helpful. Changes are, someone's hit the same issues with updates since it rolls out across so many people.
