Well, today I found another approach to this prompt that's not going to work, though it did net me some useful background details and a better understanding of where [character] is coming from. *sigh*

I'm almost at the point where I want to toss the whole thing as a bad job and do a series of ridiculous drabbles instead, but I also really want to beat this fic, goshdarnit, because it's a great idea and I will figure out how to make it work.

...

I might do the drabble thing too, mind you, because I am always in favor of ridiculous drabble series. But still. I will emerge victorious, OR ELSE.
