It hit 101 Fahrenheit today. *shudder*

Also, despite having two fans going full blast, my apartment was still 86 Fahrenheit at 5am last night -- and this is after several hours of cooling down! I cannot sleep properly in such conditions, and am having a correspondingly difficult time thinking when I attempt to write.

Since all my WIPs are at points that require some plot-related thought, rather than just off the top of my head dialogue or exposition, this means no stories for another couple days. Probably.

In other news, I am going to a BBQ with some church folks on Saturday, which should at least be a change of pace, if not a change of temperature. :-)

I have a strong urge to take a cold shower when I get home, even though I dread the subsequent stickiness of my hair. I think I'm going to experiment with a coworker's suggestion -- he says that putting a bucket of icewater behind each fan will help cool things down.

I bet it would help. It would be moving cool air into the room. I just wish things would stop being so sticky where I live. I'm in the Ohio River Valley region, and it is so humid here it isn't funny.

Got ya beat! My home was 92 degrees at 1am and finally had dropped to 88 by 8am.
