yes, we DO judge your housekeeping
Jan. 10th, 2020 08:16 pmToday I inspected the rest of [building name redacted] on my own, because C. from Maintenance was home sick with the flu. This is shaping up to be a bad flu season -- one of Mom Boss's kids was sick over Christmas, Miss California was out earlier this week, and now C. from Maintenance. I am washing my hands a lot and intend to keep on top of my sleep schedule a bit more assiduously than usual.
Anyway, I found two tenants who'd turned off some of their circuit breakers (WHY), one busted refrigerator that was circulating hot air instead of cold, a whole bunch of leaky faucets, one broken toilet, one open window, a really disheartening number of turned-off heating vents, and one bong. Also one of the tiniest and most adorable cats I've ever met, but that's okay; the tenant who owns her has all their ESA paperwork filed correctly. (I mean, technically the cat is not supposed to be left in the apartment while the tenant is not in residence, but the tenant is home on the west coast for winter break and has found a friend to come change the litterbox every couple days and make sure the cat has food and water, so we're not going to push the issue. The poor cat is clearly lonely as hell, though. I stopped and petted her for a few minutes and she was so sweet and friendly.)
If Miss California is recovered enough to work tomorrow, I'm going to inspect [other building name redacted] while she babysits the office. This is partly because I don't want to make her tromp around for hours while she's still recovering from illness, but also because I've done this before and know what to look for, so I will be more efficient.
