daily update, Tuesday Jan. 28
Jan. 28th, 2020 06:46 pmThings done today:
1. More fascinatingly odd and muddled dreams. I do love my weird epic mental theater, though its playing times are a bit irregular. *wry*
2. Sorted another folder of childhood documents. I need to find a better storage mechanism for the ones I'm keeping, but at least I will end up with a much smaller amount of papers to store. (It's kind of fascinating to watch tiny!Liz go from just making random scribbles, to making random scribbles that (according to preschool teacher notes) were meant to represent something, to vague attempts at actual shapes, to little not-quite-stick people and figuring out how to outline a shape and then color it in. I learned to (mostly) write my first name in all caps around the "vague attempt at actual shapes" stage, and had picked up most of the other letters by the "stick-people and coloring-in-the-lines" stage.)
3. Paid my February rent.
4. Worked at Not the IRS from 2pm to... presumably 8pm? Unless somebody schedules an 8pm appointment between now and 8:01-ish, in which case we will be open until 9pm. I did one tax return and scheduled several others.
5. Wrote ~300 words of the Narnia bridge fic, in which I finally introduced the naiad character.
6. Continued listening to The Magnus Archives.
7. Picked up my Celexa renewal.
...
I'm going to buy groceries after we close the office, and then I think go to bed shortly after I arrive home, because I have a blood donation appointment tomorrow morning and I also want to do my laundry. So sleep is important!
-----
ETA, 10:30pm I ended up calling my mom when I got home, since she'd called me while I was on the bus and obviously that was not a great time or place to talk. We discussed some options for this summer but came to no particular conclusion. I also told her about yesterday's mouse invasion, and she's going to have my dad poke around and see if they still have any hardware cloth left (apparently they had some for an unspecified reason which is no longer relevant and have been trying to get rid of it) as well as the means to fasten it into place. If they do, they'll bring it up to Ithaca for my birthday.
And now I am definitely going to bed. :)
