daily update, Wednesday Feb. 26
Feb. 26th, 2020 07:37 pmThings done today:
1. Slept badly/restlessly until about 3am -- by which I mean it was a thin sleep and I kept waking every 45-90 minutes -- but I did finally get some solid sleep from 3-ish to 8-ish, after which I had another two hours of thin sleep until I got up at 10am. I definitely felt better for the sleep, though.
2. Once again, successfully made tea and remembered to bring it to Not the IRS. \o/
3. Bought a few supplemental groceries, namely hard cider, instant oatmeal, and a box of single-serving instant coffee grounds/powder (for making brownies; it really kicks up the chocolate flavor).
4. Not the IRS noon to 6pm. Very slow day. I almost had a walk-in client, but I gave them to a coworker both because I had a suspicion their situation was trickier than they thought it was and didn't want to deal with untangling it while I was only sort of half-there due to exhaustion and headache (spoiler: I was right; there were complications) and because I really needed to eat lunch at that point. I bought lunch on behalf of a different coworker while I was at it, because office solidarity is a good thing. :)
5. Wrote stuff! Three 3-sentence ficathon fills (all abiding by the structural restrictions, go me!), ~275 words of the untitled Narnia bridge fic (we have finally reached the tax office!), and ~150 words of the unexpected crossover fill.
6. Read stuff! I got about a third of the way into Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo, and read chapter 8 of A Fistful of Shells.
Then I bought a grocery takeout sushi thing and caught the last #13 bus of the day, which dropped me off right in my neighborhood. I am currently eating sushi and intend to fall back into bed by about 8:30pm because I have to get up at 7am tomorrow and I'd like to be vaguely functional at the rental company office. *wry*
