Things done:
1. 9am-5pm at the rental company office on Friday. Another slow day, though toward the end Aunt Boss decided on the next "let's make use of downtime" project: namely, digitizing years upon years of hard copy apartment tour records. (Well, okay, it's really only about six years, but still. That is a LOT OF HANDWRITTEN RECORDS.) I did the simple bit by consolidating all the years we already had digitized into a single Excel spreadsheet, creating template sheets for the as-yet undigitized years, and organizing the papers in the right order. I only got through about two pages of data entry before closing, which is mostly because Aunt Boss only announced the project at 3:30pm, but I left a note for Miss California and presumably she got significantly further today.
2. Paid my credit card bills. Which reminds me that I need to get around to cancelling my old Visa card that I got through my local bank, since I now have a Chase Visa with much better rewards.
3. Put beans in water to soak overnight on Friday, and started another batch of bean soup this afternoon. It's still visually in the "separated ingredients floating in moderately dirty water" phase on a visual level, but it's begun to smell like proper food, which is nice. It should be done around 3 or 4am this morning, but I'll just let it run until whenever I get up. It's not like the extra time will hurt.
4. Emailed my dentist to ask for a prescription renewal of my extra-strength fluoride toothpaste, because my second refill has run out, my teeth have very weak enamel, and Ithaca still doesn't have a fluoridated municipal water system. Hopefully I'll get an answer on Monday.
5. Took my plants out to the back porch around 3pm, and back in around 6pm. This was not a long trip! And yet, it was long enough for some enterprising animal to dig around in the pots and plastic bins. This didn't really harm the peppers, eggplant, or onions, but a few of the carrots got unearthed and a bit mauled. :(
6. Continued listening to How the Earth Works, which is my latest Great Courses series.
7. Took a walk so I wouldn't go stir crazy.
8. Took a nap.
9. Steamed the last of my current batch of broccoli for dinner.
10. Edited a couple paragraphs of the still untitled Narnia/Naruto crossover. (You know, it feels weird calling it that? Because although two of the characters are from Naruto, and the fact that they're magical ninja from another world is plot-relevant, this is very much a Narnian story about Narnian OCs and Narnian worldbuilding. I almost feel like I should write a short and completely different story about Tsunade and Shizune in the Narnian world that would better fit
the_rck's prompt. But then again, I already tried that route and it flopped miserably more than once, which is why I wound up with this story in the first place. *hands*)
I am not really feeling the editing spirit tonight, though, so I think I might minimize that file and try working on the Magnus Archives/Doctor Who crossover instead, because reasons.
...
I am really, enormously, unbelievably tired lately. I don't know how much of that is actual physical lack of sleep (and/or low iron -- I kind of forgot to take my occasional iron supplements for a while, whoops) and how much is me sublimating general stress into exhaustion, because I know one of my standard reactions to stress I can't immediately do anything to resolve (and, annoyingly, sometimes also to stress that I can resolve but don't want to because [fill in reasons]) is to get tired and go to sleep, presumably on the subconscious hope that the stressor will be gone when I wake up. This may also be a conditioned response from years of living with depression -- depression is REALLY BIG on making you stick your fingers in your metaphorical ears, curling into a ball, and pretending the world and all your problems can't see you if you can't see them. *sigh*
Ah well. Time to go write about Jonathan Sim and Rose Tyler having a horrifically unpleasant evening. :D
