Somewhat counter-intuitively, I am much busier at work than I usually am at this time of year, despite 2/3 to 3/4 of our tenants being gone and our hours reduced. This is partly because the usual move-out procedures have gotten more complicated than normal (we don't usually have boxes upon boxes of returned keys to deal with at this point!), and partly because Aunt Boss continues to come up with old paper files for me and Miss California to digitize.
Also Miss California was out sick Tuesday and Wednesday so I had something of a backlog to plow through on Thursday morning. (I am pretty sure it's not Covid 19, since as far as Aunt Boss knows, Miss California has recovered and plans to be in on Saturday, but still. Kind of worrying!)
...
I wanted to do a sticky note art project on our front window, to sort of demonstrate enthusiasm for the sticky note window art contest Aunt Boss whipped up last week as a "why not do a Thing during these trying times?" diversion for our tenants, but actual work ate all my time and I didn't really feel like staying half an hour late to make a flower or whatever.
Maybe I'll do that on Monday.
...
In other walks of life, I had a minor stomach/intestinal bug on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I cancelled my blood donation appointment. I couldn't reschedule anytime earlier than the back half of May, which is a little frustrating.
I haven't been able to take my plants outside for nearly a week, since the weather has been relatively chilly. We had hail on Tuesday (UGH) and snow on Thursday -- nothing stuck to the ground, but still!
I had a lengthy phone call with Nick on Monday evening, and another with Susan on Tuesday afternoon. In summary, Nick is very busy with home improvements to his new house. Susan is stuck at home and a bit at loose ends, but so far as she knows the wedding is still on for August.
I continued doctoring some fabric masks, both to tighten loose elastic and to add a little pocket up top where I can slip in strips of multi-folded aluminum foil so as to mold the fabric across the bridge of my nose and reduce fogging on my glasses. I just have one left to finish.
I've been rereading the Murderbot Diaries, both in preparation for the sequel novel's release (May 5! SO CLOSE!!!) and because they have become comfort reads for me.
I successfully found my multi-surface sealant of choice at Lowes and repaired my kitchen sink faucet. I now have vague thoughts about squeezing sealant into the soles of old shoes to see if it renders them waterproof once more. (My shoes always wear out in the same pattern: they crack open width-wise across the left sole near the ball of my foot. There is something asymmetrical about how I walk that kills left shoes dead while the right shoe soles rub away in a more gradual and sustainable arc.)
And... I think that's about it, in terms of stuff anyone might care about.
Now I'm going to go finish making dinner. :)
