wherein Liz goes to the dentist

edenfallingI am pleased to announce that my teeth are fine. :)
The procedure was pretty straightforward. The dentist office has a sign on the building door with their new protocol, which is as follows: call the office number when you arrive and wait for staff to tell you to come into the building. Wash your hands before entering the office. You'll be taken to a room immediately because the waiting room is closed. Wear a mask until you're seated in the chair and the examination/cleaning starts. Payment is taken in the exam room, and appointment scheduling can also be done right in that room, to avoid having more than one person in the vestibule by the front desk at any time.
Aside from that, the appointment itself was pretty normal. Dentists already wear masks and gloves and sterilize the living daylights out of everything, so there wasn't much needed by way of additional sanitary precautions on that end except for wiping down the chairs themselves between appointments.

Other things done so far today:
1. Bought groceries. While I was out at Tops, I also made use of the windshield cleaner doohickey at their associated gas station, because poor Zippy the Camry had become absolutely caked in pollen over the past couple weeks.
2. Futzed in the garden for ~10 minutes, which in this case included a bit of weeding, a bit of spinach seedling thinning, and some raspberry pruning.
3. Wrote a thank-you card/congratulations-on-your-retirement card for my congregation's sexton and mailed it to our P.O. box. His official surprise retirement celebration is this Saturday afternoon, so hopefully the card will make it there on time.
4. Began putting away the clean and dry clothes and linens from yesterday's laundry efforts. (I did not fold anything at the laundromat because A) it was like 92 degrees Fahrenheit and my hands would have made everything sweaty and gross and B) I had to get home in time for the Board of Trustees Zoom meeting at 6pm.
5. Wrote my to-do lists for the coming week.

Now I think I am going to do nothing in particular for an hour or two before I hit the sack. :)
